Dauphin County is home to the capitol of Pa. Yet, it was one of the few counties that did not have a Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) chapter to shepherd the over 500 children in the foster system through. Our job was to punch people in the guts and make them open their wallets to fund the start of a CASA chapter right here at home. Challenge, accepted. We not only told the story of foster children who get left behind, we unified groups that had been at odds for 15 years and helped to create awareness and action to create Dauphin County’s first CASA chapter.

In doing so, we also won 8 Silver ADDY awards from the Philadelphia Ad Club, and the gratitude of an organization that was now positioned to fulfill its mission – advocate for the foster children of Dauphin County.

A PR stunt brought the trash bags to the capitol. The event culminated in a media event inside the capitol building that made the local news.
The fundraising event was an overwhelming success, exceeding the monetary goals.
The website pushed buttons and encouraged people to donate.
